During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Chandra passed through the 5th, 6th, and 7th eclipses of the season on Aug 10, 12, and 15 respectively, with nominal power and thermal performance. Real-time procedures were executed on Aug 15 to update the ACIS Flight Software to version 61 (Standard H, Optional K) and to update the txings parameters to optimized values appropriate for the current state of the solar cycle. These actions will improve the robustness of ACIS operations. Of note this week was a technical interchange meeting between operations management for Chandra and James Webb Space Telescope where Chandra shared lessons learned regarding efficiency and automation. The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below. |
