Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 12 July 2024 9.00am EDT

During the last week, Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A Chandra image release was issued on July 11 describing new images combining data from NASA’s Chandra and Webb telescopes. The four objects include a cloud complex (Rho Ophiuchi), a region of star formation (The Orion Nebula), a spiral galaxy (NGC 3627), and a galaxy cluster (MACS J0416). In each image, various colors represent different wavelengths of light detected by the telescopes For details, see https://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2024/chandrawebb3/

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SDSS J163810.07+115103.9 coordinated with HET, an observation of SS 433 coordinated with SWIFT, observations of NGC 3783 coordinated with XRISM, and an observation of SDSS J141041.25+5318, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Jun 12.
