Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 7 June 2024 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Real-time procedures were executed on Jun 5 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer and to perform a diagnostic dump of the Control Processing Electronics (CPE).

An additional real-time procedure was executed on Jun 5 to determine new values for the HRC-I high-voltage ramp-up steps. The new voltage compensates for an expected decrease in HRC-I gain over the course of the mission.

Of note this week was the release on Jun 6 of the CalDB version 4.11.2. The CalDB update includes an HRC-I MEAN QE file set upgrade to version N0015.

Also of note this week was the second announcement of the symposium "25 Years of Science with Chandra", to be held in Boston December 3-6, 2024.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SDSS J163810.07+1151 coordinated with HET, an observation of SS 433 coordinated with Swift and an observation of EP240414a which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on May 16.
