Operations CXO Status Report

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A Chandra image release was issued on Sep 16 describing the release of "sonifications" of three new objects — a star-forming region, a supernova remnant, and a black hole at the center of a galaxy. Since 2020, a sonification project has transformed astronomical data from some of the world's most powerful telescopes into sound. Each sonification has its own technique to translate the astronomical data into sound. For details see: https://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2021/sonify4/

Use of the gratings is suspended pending a detailed review of the LETG insert anomaly. All other spacecraft subsystems continued to support nominal operations.
