During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. Real-time procedures were executed during each ground contact to reset the DSN Outage Dead Man Load. A Chandra press release was issued on Feb 8 describing the first evidence for a rare type of supernova in the Milky Way. This intriguing object lies near the center of our galaxy in a supernova remnant called Sagittarius A East. Chandra data revealed that this object may belong to a special group of Type Iax supernovas, which will help us understand the different ways that white dwarf stars can explode.
