Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 27 March 2020 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A Chandra press release was issued on Mar 25 to announce the selection of 24 new postdoctoral scientists for the NASA Hubble Fellowship Program (NHFP). The program enables outstanding postdoctoral scientists to pursue independent research across NASA Astrophysics, using theory, observation, experimentation, or instrument development. Each fellowship provides the awardee up to three years of support. The newly selected NHFP Fellows will begin their programs in the fall of 2020 at a university or research center of their choosing in the United States. For more information see: https:// chandra.harvard.edu/press/20_releases/press_032520fellowships.html

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of J1818-1607, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Mar 24.
