During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A Chandra image release was issued on Jan 29 describing a new set of three-dimensional visualizations of astronomical objects based on data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory and other X-ray observatories. Astronomers have used data from these observatories to learn about the geometry, velocity, and other physical properties of each of these sources. For details see: https://chandra.si.edu/photo/2020/3dmodels/ The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SN 2019yvr, which was accepted as a Target of Opportunity on Jan 6, an observation of PKS 1413+135, which is a follow-up to a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity which was accepted on Oct 18, and an observation of SN 2019yvq, which was accepted as a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity on Jan 18. |
