CXC Biographies: Dr. Alan Bunner
Science Program Director, NASA
Dr. Alan Bunner is currently the Science Program Director (Structure & Evolution of the Universe) at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. As a member of the Office of Space Science (OSS) Board
of Directors, he has responsibility for the science discipline areas of high energy astrophysics, extreme ultraviolet astronomy, submillimeter and radio astronomy, relativistic astrophysics, and
general relativity.
Dr. Bunner received his B.A. in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Toronto in 1960 and his Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University in 1967.
