The mirrors were constructed by Raytheon Optical Systems in Danbury, Conn. The largest of the 8 mirrors is almost 4 feet in diameter and 3 feet long. If the state of Colorado was ground as smooth as Chandra's mirrors, Pike's Peak would be less than one inch tall, and if the entire Earth was ground as smooth, Mt. Everest would be 6 feet tall!
