This is a typical textbook model of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is an exponential model and therefore severely distorts the widths of the different bands of the spectrum relative to one another. If this spectrum was presented as a linear scale and the radio band was 1/8th of an inch long, the X-ray band would be ~30 miles long! A huge amount of the information within our universe is contained within the X-ray band of the spectrum.
