X-Ray Sources: Crab Nebula

The total output from the Sun is about 4 x 1033 ergs/sec. The typical supernovas that we see in other galaxies shine about about as brightly as the entire galaxy in which they reside! This output is about 4 x 1043 ergs/sec, or about 10 billion times the present luminosity of the Sun.
