During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned. A real-time procedure was executed on Nov 7 to perform a routine self-check of the Electrical Interface Assembly (EIA) Sequencer. A Chandra image release was issued on Nov 7 describing observations of Cygnus OB2, a star cluster in the Milky Way that contains many hot, massive young stars. A deep Chandra observation of Cygnus OB2 has found almost 1,500 stars emitting X-rays. For details see: http://chandra.si.edu/photo/2012/cygob2/ The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of UZTauE_P3 coordinated with OVRO/CARMA and an observation of NGC 253 coordinated with the VLBA. |
