Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 19 March 2004 10.30am EST

During the last week the observing schedule was replanned to include an observation of GRS 1915+105 that was approved as a fast turn-around Target Of Opportunity (TOO) on 16 Mar. Loads were replanned and uplinked on Mar 18 for observing Mar 20. Observations of HH 300 and Alpha CrA were impacted by the TOO and will be rescheduled for a later load.

A real-time procedure was completed on Mar 13 to perform a manual unload of momentum. The unload was performed at an attitude that ensured a cool starting temperature and thruster performance was nominal throughout the unload.

A real-time procedure was completed on Mar 15 to update the on-board ephemeris.

Of note last week was the Chandra Cycle 6 proposal deadline at 6pm EST on March 12. A total of 785 GO proposals were received and the submission process proceeded smoothly.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of M81 coordinated with HST.
