Operations CXO Status Report
Friday 6 December 2002, 9.00am EST
During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as
planned.
A calibration of the Aspect Camera Assembly's dark current was carried
via stored command loads on Dec 3. The calibration was monitored in
real-time and the data were captured successfully via dump through
virtual channel 2. The pass was also supported by a second DSN station
in shadow mode in order to test new Network Simplification Project
equipment. Data from the test is under analysis.
Of note last week was an article on Chandra in the December issue of
National Geographic. See pages 42-53 for some spectacular pictures,
including a fold-out.
The observing schedule for next week is shown below and includes an
observation of NGC7469 coordinated with the Hubble Space Telescope and
FUSE, and AB Doradus coordinated with ground-based observations.
