We are all familiar with the Pleiades, an open cluster of young hot stars. However, the Pleiades are more than just seven sisters. In X-ray the cluster shows us that the brightest star optically is extremely dim in X-ray, and some of the optically dim stars are very energetic in the X-ray spectrum. This is a good example of why it is important to look at deep-sky objects with other wavelengths.
